Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is going to address the meeting of the Parliament on the 18th to clear the obstruction of Parliament. This agreement was reached from the discussion between the chief opposition party, opposition party and ruling party chief whips who sat together with Speaker Devraj Ghimire on Friday.
The Cabinet meeting held on Monday dismissed the Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising.
With the dismissal, the opposition parties have blocked the parliament by creating a barrier in the house . They have said that they will remove the obstruction of the House only after Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli gives a satisfactory answer on this matter.
The government side proposed that the relevant minister and the deputy prime minister should answer the matter on behalf of the government. But the opposition parties have been blocking the parliament saying that the prime minister should answer.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, CPN-UML Chief Whip Mahesh Bertaula informed that it was agreed that the Prime Minister would respond to the meeting of the House of Representatives on the 18th and that the meeting on Sunday would proceed smoothly.
He said that even when Prime Minister Oli agreed to respond according to the demands of the opposition parties, the opposition parties refused to hold today's meeting.
He said, "Taking into account the issues raised by the main opposition, the honorable Prime Minister will address the upcoming meeting of the Parliament on the 18th." We put this issue, on behalf of the ruling party. The Prime Minister will speak on the topic on the 18th. We have requested the main opposition to move the House forward from today . The 5 replacement bills in the National Assembly have to be concluded by the evening of 17th. We requested all these things. Rather than proceeding according to their demands, there was no positive situation in running today's house and proceeding smoothly. The meeting will be conducted smoothly from Sunday.
He said that although the replacement bills brought by the government should be completed by the night of 17th, they are still stuck due to the obstruction of the opposition parties.
