When the opposition parties tried to start the proceedings of the National Assembly meeting on Friday, Speaker Narayan Prasad Dahal adjourned the meeting to an hour later.
After the opposition MPs stood up and protested, Chairman Dahal gave time to Rashtriya Jan Morcha MP Tul Prasad Vishwakarma to speak. MP Bishwakarma demanded the adjournment of the House saying that the opposition demanded an answer from the Prime Minister regarding the dismissal of the Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising, but the Prime Minister was not accountable to the House.
President Dahal asked for support by taking the seat to protect the dignity of the National Assembly. He emphasized that the political parties should be active and solve the problem themselves.
Chairman Dahal repeatedly asked to resume the meeting after taking the seat, but when the opposition parliamentarians continued to obstruct, he announced that the meeting was adjourned for one hour.
