CPN Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that there is no dispute between the political parties that the peace process should be completed. Speaking at the National Conference on Transitional Justice organized by the Accountability Monitoring Committee and conflict-affected organizations on Thursday, he said that the peace process of Nepal has proceeded in a fundamental manner.
He regarding the victims should be given top priority in matters related to the TRC and transitional justice He also said that there is no conflict at the political leadership level.
He said that the political leadership is clear that the peace process can be made sustainable only by prioritizing justice for the victims. Another issue related to the TRC and transitional justice was never disputed at the political leadership level that the issue of addressing the victims should be given top priority. People think that it is not like that. But we are committed that the political leadership can finally make the peace process sustainable only by prioritizing justice for the victims,' he said.
He said that even now there are differences of opinion among the political parties on various issues, but they are discussing the issue of ending the peace process with understanding. 'We are the main parties, some are in the ruling party and some are in the opposition. The dispute is ongoing. A debate is going on in the House. There are many things. There is no dispute between us that the peace process should be completed even in the midst of all these disputes and disagreements, he said, sometimes there are technical, sometimes legal, sometimes political ups and downs. But we agree that this problem should be resolved sooner or later.'
