The government is trying to complete the rest of the peace agreement: Chairman Deuba

Chairman of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the current government is proceeding to complete the rest of the peace agreement. Speaking at the National Conference on Transitional Justice organized by the Accountability Monitoring Committee and conflict-affected organizations on Thursday, he said the parties are committed to completing the peace process.

Chairman Deuba said that for transitional justice, the government has recently formed a recommendation committee for the appointment of officers of the Truth and Reconciliation and Investigation Commission of Disappeared Persons.

He also claimed that these  commissions will be completed soon. He expressed his belief that the commission will investigate the truth about human rights violations during the armed conflict and bring justice according to the spirit of the peace agreement. He also said that the present government and political parties are clear about providing justice to the victims.

'The current government is moving forward to complete the rest of the peace agreement . For the purpose of transitional justice, the government has recently formed a recommendation committee for the appointment of officers of the Truth and Reconciliation and Investigation Commission of Disappeared Persons. "These commissions will be completed soon," said Deuba, "according to the spirit of the peace agreement, the commission will investigate the truth about human rights violations during the armed conflict and bring justice."

He said that the present government and political parties are clear and committed to providing justice to the victims of armed conflict.
