The meeting of Parliament was also postponed on Thursday as the issue of removal of Kulman Ghising as the Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority became hot. As the ruling and opposition parties could not reach an agreement, the meeting of the House of Representatives has been adjourned till 11 am tomorrow.
Earlier, the meeting called for Thursday at 11 o'clock was postponed until 2 o'clock. The General Secretary of the Federal Parliament, Padma Prasad Pandey, issued a notice and informed that the time of the House of Representatives meeting has been changed.
It was mentioned in General Secretary Pandey's notice that the meeting called for 11 am on Thursday was moved by Speaker Devraj Ghimire to 2 pm. As the meeting could not be held even at 2 o'clock, General Secretary Pandey postponed the meeting until 11 o'clock on Friday morning.
The opposition parties have been demanding that the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli should come to the House and give an explanation about it, saying that it was decided to remove Kulman from the Cabinet meeting. They have also taken a stand to block the House until the Prime Minister gives an answer.
The government is ready to answer the issue of Kulman's removal in the parliament. However, according to the demand of the opposition parties, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli himself did not appear and give an answer, UML Chief Whip Mahesh Bertaula informed.
