The government's decision to remove Kulman Ghising as the executive director of Nepal Electricity Authority has been widely opposed. The ruling party Congress is protesting against the decision to remove Kulman. Congress General Minister Gagan Thapa and Vishwa Prakash Sharma have also said that the decision to remove him was not the party's.
Meanwhile, leader Shekhar Koirala also said that the government will not take ownership of the decision to remove Kulman. Leader Koirala has said that the decision is 'another link in the continuation of the government's misrule'. He wrote, 'Neither the government nor the party can ever confirm the government's decision to remove Kulman Ghising. Nepali Congress should not take ownership of it. How many days will it run and run? Destruction is the opposite of wisdom.'
The government has appointed Hitendradev Shakya as the executive director of Nepal Electricity Authority. The Council of Ministers held on Monday removed Kulman Ghising and appointed Shakya.
