Deepak Mallik, the victim who ran away in Aurhi Rural Municipality 5 of Siraha saying he was untouchable in the name of Maha Yagya, has met the Chief Minister of Madhesh Province. He met Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh with a demand for security saying that he has become unsafe.
Mallik along with Dalit leaders reached the chief minister's residence in Janakpur on Tuesday morning. At that time, he said that he became unsafe after the legal action was taken against village president Shivji Yadav, former ward president Dilip Yadav and Bajrangi Baba who abused his family.
He complained that the relatives of the village chairman were pressurizing and threatening him to go to the court to change his statement and make a settlement. He says that despite knowing everything, the police did not take the safety of his family seriously.
Similarly, after demolishing his house, he has also requested Chief Minister Singh to arrange a house for them as they do not even have a house to live in. Chief Minister Singh has assured Mallik that he will take initiative in matters of security and home.
In the name of Maha Yagya scheduled to be held from 17th Chait in Aurhi, on February 10, Mallik's house at the Maha Yagya site was destroyed by bulldozers.
Deepak Mallik, the victim of this incident, filed a complaint against the three people at the District Police Office, Siraha, on Saturday for crimes related to caste discrimination and untouchability. It has been demanded that the defendants should be prosecuted according to the law for committing racial discrimination, vandalizing houses and displacement and compensation should be given to the victims. In the
incident, the village president and the pre-ward president have already been arrested last Friday. They are in the custody of District Police Office, Siraha. Bajrangi Baba is being searched for.
