Madhav Prasad Chamlagai has been elected as the president of the National Democratic Handicapped Association, a sister organization of the Nepali Congress.

The first convention of the Democratic Disabled Association started last Friday and voting was held on Saturday. According to the final result of the counting, Chamlagai has received 351 votes out of 470 votes cast.

Another candidate for the post of president, Vikas Thapa, got 88 votes, while Khadka, who ran for the post of president, got 13 votes. Udaya Bahadur Limbu, who became the vice-presidential candidate from his group, was elected by getting 332 votes.

Similarly, Anita Ghimire has been elected as the vice president. She has received 339 votes. Similarly, Ganesh Bahadur Khatri and Kiran Paswan have been elected as General Ministers. Khatri got 349 votes while Paswan got 355 votes.

Congress General Minister Gagan Kumar Thapa is close to Chamlagai who was elected as the president. He was supported by many leaders close to Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba.
