After the arrest of Aurhi rural municipality chairman Shivji Yadav in the case of abusing a Dalit family as untouchables in the name of Maha Yagya, the Yadav family threatened the victims. President Yadav's son Rukesh Yadav reached the house on Friday evening and threatened the victim.
After the arrest of Chairman Yadav, Rukesh along with a group reached the house of victim Deepak Mallik around 8.30 pm on Friday. Rupesh asked the victim's family to walk with them to Sirah and go to the district police office to give a statement that nothing happened.
However, after not obeying, the victimized family went to their relatives and took shelter all night because of the threats. Deepak himself went to a relative in the village and took shelter, while his wife Anita went to a relative in the neighboring village of Sanhaitha.
"The President's people came and told us to go to Sirah, and when we refused, they threatened us," Deepak said to Kantipur, "We were trapped, we left the house at night and went to stay with our relatives." Their children slept at home under the protection of the police.
Chief Superintendent of Police Ramesh Pandit of District Police Office, Siraha is providing protection to the victim's family from the point of view of security. "It is our job to protect the citizens," Pandit told Kantipur. "I was in Janakpur, I came at night," he said, panicking, "I have not gone to the victim's house, I am still in Siraha."
