Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has informed that preparations are being made to operate the Gautam Budh International Airport at full capacity.
Speaking during the question and answer program with the parliamentarians at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday, he mentioned that discount and incentive programs have been implemented in airport passenger service fee, ground handling, landing, parking and navigation fees.
He said, 'For the sustainable operation of Gautam Buddha International Airport, the government has made an action plan in discussion with related agencies and it is being implemented. Concession and incentive programs like discounts on passenger service charges, discounts on ground handling, landing, parking and navigation charges have been launched.
Prime Minister Oli said, 'Currently, Al Jazeera, Fly Dubai, Air Asia and Nepal Airlines are operating international flights from that airport. Labor and Employment Office Butwal has started providing labor permits. In addition, arrangements have been made to provide banking services such as immigration and currency exchange at the airport.
He said that after completing the rest of the work, preparations are being made to bring the airport into operation at full capacity soon.
