Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is going to adopt a soft policy towards the opposition parties. Earlier, he has been sharply criticizing the main opposition party, Maoist and other opposition parties, but he has gradually started to change his 'tone'. On Thursday, Oli appeared soft even while answering the questions of MPs in the House of Representatives.

"I am trying to contact the leader of the opposition party, but when I tried again and again, I got the answer that I could not contact him due to some health problems," he said pointing to Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, "the work will be carried forward as soon as he is contacted." Prime Minister Oli has also said that he will initiate the appointment of officials of the Commission.

"The government is sensitive to the fact that the victims and their family members get justice as soon as possible due to the incidents that happened during the conflict in Nepal," he said, "Also, the government is committed to start the process of appointing the officials of the Commission of Investigation of Disappeared Persons and the Commission of Truth and Reconciliation as soon as possible and complete the rest of the peace process . I am still working on this.'

On the other hand, Dahal, who reached Bara during his party's Terai Madhesh Awakening campaign, has accused the government of promoting monarchism. He commented that the regressive forces dared to raise their heads by taking advantage of the wrong activities of the government. "For the protection of the rights of the people, the responsibility of fighting against the regressive and status quo forces has again fallen on the shoulders of the people," he said.

Dahal had previously criticized the Oli government while speaking at a special time in the House of Representatives meeting on February 27. He criticized the government saying that the government was run by 'middlemen', corruption was rampant and there was no good governance.

While answering the questions raised by the MPs in Parliament, Prime Minister Oli did not reply to Dahal's speech in Parliament, instead he commented that he is trying to have a dialogue with him.

The UML secretariat meeting held on Monday suggested Prime Minister Oli to improve relations with the supporters of the federal republic and stand in favor of the republic. The leaders suggested to Oli not to spoil the relationship with the opposition, saying that the anti-republican power movement has started when the attacks were focused on the opposition parties.

"The secretariat has concluded to communicate with the opposition parties for the protection of the constitution," UML vice president Yuvraj Gyawali said, "Since the reactionary parties benefit from the conflict between the pro-constitution parties, it is necessary to increase relations with all parties, including the main opposition." pointed out . The UML has also started preparations to negotiate with the civil society and the Republican parties.

In the secretariat meeting, Oli mentioned that the monarchist was encouraged by foreign powers and said that Nepal's political parties will suppress the regressive tactics .

After the demonstrations of royalists on February 25 in Kathmandu and before that in Pokhara and other areas, the major parties Congress, UML and Maoist Center have stood together in favor of federalism and republicanism. The leaders of those parties have been speaking in the house and on the streets in favor of federalism and republicanism.

"Government has to take into account the interests and concerns of the people and the secretariat has decided that the party will run a political campaign in favor of the republic," Gyawali said.

UML officials have suggested to the Prime Minister to address the dissatisfaction of the people as the work of the government is not as expected.

'There is a situation where the Prime Minister should pay special attention to why the government agencies have not been able to serve the people effectively. If the people don't get easy services, the challenge of growing dissatisfaction will be added," suggested the leaders.

Leaders have drawn Oli's attention to analyze the ministries that are not working well and take a decision. The member of the Central Secretariat has also suggested that the government should not take any big decisions in the coming days which will have a negative impact on the common people .

'We have suggested to the Prime Minister to keep the government decision that will be heavily criticized in the society,' another official of UML said, 'The Prime Minister felt that the government is serious about working keeping in mind the concerns, interests and dissatisfaction of the common people.'

Prime Minister Oli is dissatisfied because the work is not as expected even though he made a performance agreement between the ministers. He became dissatisfied because the secretaries of the ministry did not perform as expected.

UML will also demonstrate in favor of the republic

The UML, led by the government, will also demonstrate in the streets in favor of the democratic republic . After the royalists announced the movement, UML has also prepared to demonstrate nationwide as per the decision of the Central Secretariat.

General Secretary Shankar Pokharel addressed the presidents of all provinces and district committees through a virtual meeting on Thursday and instructed them to effectively implement the program decided by the party.

UML has instructed to organize mass mobilization and public awareness programs in favor of federal republic in all provinces and districts from March 11th to 30th while running a three-month ward-focused campaign.
