More than 220 Palestinians have been killed so far in the fierce airstrikes carried out by Israel in Gaza on Tuesday.

According to Gaza officials, among the dead was Mohammed Abu Wafa, a senior Hamas security official in the Gaza Strip. Israel is attacking the areas of Hamas and possible structures where they live.

A spokeswoman for the White House told Fox News that Israel had discussed with the administration of US President Donald Trump before the air strike.

In a statement released by the Israeli Prime Minister's Office, it is said that the attack was carried out by those who rejected the first phase of the ceasefire proposal.

Israel has cut humanitarian aid and electricity supplies to Gaza to pressure Hamas.
