The municipal government has brought under its control the government land within the compound of Dr. Kedarnar Singh KC, who is a Congress leader and the former president of Nepal Medical Association, near the popular square in Tarakeshwar Municipality-9, Manmaiju.
Municipal head of Tarakeshwar, Krishnahari Maharjan, said that the government land was allocated by putting up tar nets on Monday. However, Shyamakrishna Maharjan, the chairman of the ward where the land is located, and Narendra Poudel, the chief shipping officer of the shipping office Manmaiju, have no information about this matter.
Mayor Krishnahari Maharjan is accused of supporting KC who is accused of usurping government land. However, Maharjan 13 says that the fence was put up according to the policy of protecting public land from the city council.

KC's misappropriation of government land became public after the voice of KC occupying nearly 9 acres of government land and putting up a private compound was raised in the parliament. In the meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, MPs Shishir Khanal and Sumana Shrestha of Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RASWPA) said that the land of Democratic Chowk in Tarakeshwar-9 under Kathmandu Area No. 6 is in the possession of the Congress leader.
