Independent student union elections were held on Tuesday in about 300 affiliated campuses, including 38 affiliated ones under Tribhuvan University.
According to the Central Monitoring and Coordinating Committee of Swaviyu Elections, it is preliminary estimated that 65 percent of the students participated in the voting. Elections have not been held in 18 individual campuses. The University has instructed to conduct immediate elections in these campuses.
Elections could not be held in 11 out of 22 campuses in Kathmandu Valley. Elections were not held in RR, Tri-Chandra, Patan, Padyakanya, Askal, Saraswati, Public Youth, University campuses of Kathmandu.
Elections could not be held in Prithvi Narayan Campus in Pokhara. The schedule of elections has been announced for Prithvi Narayan on Wednesday, Padyakanya on Thursday and the university campus on Friday.
