At the gate of Prithvi Narayan Campus (PN Campus) in the last one week, the presence of political party leaders from the district to the center was very thick. The leaders were seen gossiping about the Swaviyu elections to be held on Tuesday at the tea shop and liaison office at the campus gate.

Yagya Bahadur Thapa, Congress leader and Former Law Minister, who was met at the Pokhara Metropolitan City-1 campus gate on Monday afternoon, said, 'In our time, when the elections were held tomorrow, one would beat the other with a stick. Today is quiet. I was surprised that this could happen.' 

Padam Giri, a member of the House of Representatives from UML, arrived in Pokhara as soon as he became the Law Minister last year. At that time, he entered a tea shop around the campus. After entering the campus, he met the professor who had taught him, entered the room. Due to the political environment of Prithvi Narayan Campus, many leaders of the present Gandaki province have a close relationship with the campus. 

Prithvi Narayan Campus's Swaviyu presidents are mostly established in politics and have reached high positions in the government. Therefore, this campus is considered to be a factory for producing leaders, especially in the western region. "The Swaviyu election here, the political movement here has a special meaning in the current politics of the whole Gandaki province," says Padam Giri, former minister and former Swaviyu president, "The Swaviyu here produces leaders." It doesn't matter if it is called a factory for producing leaders.'

When political parties were banned, students studying on campus used to raise slogans in favor of multi-party democracy, and student organizations organized and protested against panchayats. There was a daily demonstration in the Prithvi Narayan campus area against the 'coup' carried out by Raja Gyanendra on 061 Magh 19. With the strength of this movement, this campus has produced a leader who can have influence at the national level. 

Swaviyu was established in Prithvi Narayan campus in the year 2022. After this, 21 people have become presidents of Swaviyu. Shant Bahadur Koirala (2022 year), Ganesh Sherchan (2023 year), Tribhuvan Sharma (2024 year), Dipendra Bahadur Paudel Chhetri (2025 year), Pushpa Kamal Subedi (2026 year), Somnath Adhikari (2027 and 036 year), Sundar Gurung (2028 year), Ramnath Adhikari (2029 year), Himanchal Bhattarai (2037 year), Mahendra Katila. (2038 years), Khagraj Adhikari (2040 and 041 years), Tul Bahadur Gurung (2043 years), Jhalak Subedi (2045 years), Rabindra Adhikari (2049 years), Dhanraj Acharya (2051 years), Dilipvikram Shahi (2053 years), Bhakta Bahadur Gurung (2055 years), Rajiv Pahari (2057 years), Soviet Dhakal (2060 years), Padam Giri (2062 years) and Rashmi Acharya. (2065 years) is the president of Swaviyu. Among these, Somnath Adhikari was active in party politics for a long time. Then he became the provincial head of province number 1 in October 076. Dipendra Bahadur Poudel became the Vice Chairman of Chhetri Planning Commission and Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank. 

Khagraj Adhikari became Union Government's Health Minister, Home Minister and Chief Minister of Gandaki Province. Tul Bahadur Gurung became the Minister of State. Rabindra Adhikari became the Tourism Minister of the Union Government. Dhanraj Acharya is the Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City. Rajiv Pahari became the President of Yuva Sangh, Member of Gandaki State Assembly and in-charge of Yuva Sangh. Padam Giri became Union Government Law Minister, Health Minister. 

Swaviyu has not only become the president, but the officials and members have also become mayors, state parliamentarians and the speaker of the House of Representatives. Krishna Bahadur Mahara, who was the treasurer when Khagraj Adhikari was the chairman in 040, became a member of the Constituent Assembly, several times a minister and speaker. Akhil (Fifth) i.e. present Aneraswaviyu and Akhil (sixth) of the party led by Mohanvikram Singh used to fight Swaviyu elections at Prithvi Narayan campus. At this time Mahara of Akhil (sixth) became the treasurer. After becoming treasurer, he became active in organization and party work. 8 years after becoming the treasurer, he ran for the House of Representatives of Mahara 048 from Rolpa. 

041/42 Swaviyu member Krishna Bahadur Thapa 054 was elected mayor of Pokhara sub-metropolitan city, Gandaki Prade Sabha member in 074. In the election of 079, the mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City was defeated. He was defeated by Dhanraj Acharya, the treasurer of 049/50 and the chairman of Swaviyu of 051/52. 

Sudhir Kumar Paudyal, the treasurer of Swaviyu in 053/54, was elected as the chairman of Andhikhola Rural Municipality of Syangja in 074. Paudyal, who was elected as a member of the Gandaki Provincial Assembly in 1979, is currently the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee. 

Not only the president of Swaviyu but those who have done student politics from here are established in party politics. Yagya Bahadur Thapa of Kaski, who came to the PN campus to study, entered the politics of the New Union in 2003. In 036, when Bimalendra Nidhi was the chairman of the Navy Association, Thapa became the vice chairman. 

District President of the Congress, became the Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs of the Union Government. Thapa, who has been active in PN campus for 12 years in the politics of the Union, explains this campus as a fertile role for preparing leadership. When the party was banned, all our organizations for democracy used to come out with their own flags. Every movement, the presence of this campus is worth remembering," he says, "Prithvinarayan Campus is a fertile ground for preparing leadership." Mahadev Gurung of Kaski became the state minister and the district president of the party. Kulprasad Gurung, who was active in the movement of Navy Sangh, later left active politics after Bir Bahadur Gurung. 

In favor of multi-party democracy, against Panchayat and in various movements, all the student organizations of the campus used to come together. Former Minister Padam Giri says that Prithvi Narayan Campus is an important place for Nepali politics because the movement played a role in bringing leadership apart from teaching. Any leadership is done by movement. Many leaders were born from there during the movement against the power and system of that time. This is the reason why the state reached the highest level of power," he added, "Prithvinarayan Campus has produced many leaders who are capable and able to understand the times." He is also excellent in the field of education. The product here has the ability to not only read but to reach the top level of the state and make a positive intervention in terms of policy. The intellectual height is good,' he said, 'PN campus is like a triveni of everything.' According to him, instead of addressing the real issues of the students, including whether the exam was/was not held on time, whether it was held/not held according to the calendar, and the quality of education, the students' organization has become a situation where it is controlled by the leader. "When we were in student politics, there was awareness, vigilance and creative activity," Shahi said. He said that the new generation's distaste for politics has increased due to the failure of student organizations to raise students' issues.
