Stating that Nepal is going to be upgraded to a developing nation, National Assembly member Anjan Shakya has said that the thinking of developing on one's own merits should be promoted instead of relying on cooperation.

In the meeting of the National Assembly on Monday, MP Shakya said that Nepal has no choice but to walk on the path of becoming independent. He said that the union, state and local levels should take important steps to take the country forward in a sustainable manner. He said that the economic situation should be improved for that.

MP Shakya said that Nepal's journey of development and upgradation has reached an important point. "Now we don't have time to get involved in trivial matters, otherwise our descendants will curse us," she said. Reminding that Nepal has been trying to improve its status since 2010, she said that Nepal has been successful in the evaluation of the United Nations in 2015, 2018 and 2021 in order to upgrade from an underdeveloped country to a developing country.

'Even if two criteria are fulfilled, the eligibility for upgrading will be reached, even if the per capita income is low, Nepal is about to be upgraded by succeeding in the other two indices,' said MP Shakya, 'After upgrading, Nepal's international image and reputation will increase . A comfortable environment will be created to attract foreign investment.'

She said that Nepal's economy will also improve and it will make it easier to get foreign loans and grants. She also emphasized that Nepal should have bilateral agreements and understandings, bilateral trade agreements, bilateral treaties by increasing bilateral relations and regional relations with various countries, including neighboring countries, in order to achieve the benefits that will be lost after upgrading.

MP Shakya said that Nepal should build a production cycle rather than traditional goods in the international market, and focus on the production and productivity of goods that can promote exports. For that, he said, investment-friendly environment should be created in Nepal.
