Holi, the festival of colours, is being celebrated with gusto in Terai districts today. According to the tradition of celebrating Holi in Terai districts the day after Holi (Fagupurnima) is celebrated in Himalayan and hilly districts, Holi is going to be celebrated in this region today.
Today, Holi is celebrated in the districts of Madhesh Pradesh from east to west of Terai. Holi is considered as a festival of joy and color change, which destroys all kinds of discrimination and makes everyone colorful.
Public holiday has been given on Thursday of Holi in hilly district, but public holiday has been given today in Terai district. Various fairs and festivals are organized in different places targeting Holi.
To prevent unwanted activities on Holi, the administration has increased security vigilance in Terai districts. The police has mobilized with a special security plan to take action against those who paint without permission, shout slogans, make unnecessary noise, quarrel, behave indecently.
