The issue of citizenship being given to Indian citizens in Siraha's Naraha Rural Municipality-3 has been raised in Parliament. Jaspa Nepal MP Rajkishore Yadav raised objections in Parliament on Tuesday saying that Siraha is selling citizenship.

However, he expressed his anger saying that even after receiving a complaint from the district administration to the authority and the Ministry of Home Affairs, the culprits were not prosecuted. He complained that he was being protected as the ward president of the ruling party UML.

'Now the government has nothing left to sell,' he said, 'Sirhama ward president has sold his citizenship, but even though a complaint has been filed, because he belongs to the ruling party, no action has been taken yet.

Kantipur published the news on Tuesday that District Administration Office, Siraha has provided citizenship to Indian citizen Mostak Mian. Mostak is a resident of Deudha in Madhubani District, Jayanagar Gram Panchayat of Bharat Vihar.

Based on the recommendation of Ward President Rushtam Ansari, the district administration Siraha issued citizenship number 150180-4362 in the name of Mostak on 26 June 2080.
