Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar has said that there is no need for former King Gyanendra Shah Housin under the delusion that monarchy is an alternative to republic.
Talking to the media persons in Surkhet on Sunday morning, the Home Minister said that lately some people are spreading confusion that the alternative to republic is monarchy. And he said that there is no need for King Housin in such confusion.
He said, 'Some people are spreading the illusion that the alternative to this republic is a monarchy, it is not necessary to be a king.' The Home Minister writer also warned the former King Shah not to take this as a weakness.
He said, 'Our democracy is so restrained, so generous, so refined that even the king of the monarchy, who has been thrown away by the people, continues to enjoy all the freedoms and rights. No one should take this as a weakness of democracy.'
