Aam Janata Party President Prabhu Sah has accused the big and ruling parties of making democracy a dictatorship. He made this allegation while addressing the party's first rural meeting held on Thursday at Pipra Bazar of Baragadhi Rural Municipality of Bara.
He is accused of creating a mantra to cheat the people in the name of democracy, doing corruption, carrying debts on the people and emptying the state coffers. He says that people have no choice but to take to the streets to save the country from this. "The country is falling into the economic quagmire because the big and ruling parties are running, not democracy under the guise of brokers and middlemen," he said, "In the name of democracy, leaders have carried the burden of debt on the Nepali people in the name of democracy and the country is collapsing due to various corruption scandals." Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli demanded immediate resignation as the current government has completely failed. Saying that the prime minister himself failed in the performance evaluation published by the government's mechanism, Shah questioned what ethics would allow him to lead the government.
'According to the performance report of 12 ministers including Prime Minister Oli, 35 percent marks have not been achieved. Prime Minister Oli's score is only 28 percent," he said. "How can the country stand up when the leader of the country has failed?" He said, "The Prime Minister himself has failed in the performance evaluation, more than half of the ministers in his cabinet have failed in the performance evaluation. How does failure give good governance and development?'
He alleged that the government created tax panic but did not provide services to the people for paying taxes. "When the industries brought into operation by the government are running at a loss, by what ethics can the government collect taxes from the private sector?" he asked.
