Government spokesperson and Minister of Communication and Information Technology Prithvisubba Gurung has taken a dig at the opposition Maoists. Commenting on the sin of people's war, he said that not only has the justification of the Maoists ended in the current world, but also that the Maoists of Nepal have sold the people's war.

Speaking at a program held in Kathmandu on Wednesday, he said that the Maoists did not come from Rukum, Rolpa, by occupying Sinha Darbar, by occupying Narayanhiti, and by defeating the Nepalese army. He said, 'The peaceful completion of the revolution in the country confirms that the Maoists' people's war was wrong.'

Minister Gurung said that the monarchy was defeated not by bullets but by ballot and claimed that killings and violence committed by Maoists in the name of people's war are not political issues. He also argued that it is not according to the moral principles that the powers that adhere to Maoism participate in the parliamentary system. He said, 'The Communist Party that does not have weapons in its hands is not a Communist Party, is the Maoist now a Communist Party or not? '
