UML has suspended Rajkumar Thapa, the head of the District Coordination Committee, who is in prison for embezzling one and a half billion from the Kumari Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Beni, Myagdi.

According to UML Gandaki province secretary Dhananjay Dawadi, the party's secretariat meeting held in Pokhara on Tuesday suspended Thapa. Rajkumar Thapa, who is also the head of Jesus, is the leader of UML.

Thapa is the advisory member of UML Gandaki province. "He has been suspended until the end of the case," UML provincial secretary Dawadi said.

Before Jesus became the head, Thapa, who was the supervisor of Kumari Cooperative, is currently in the custody of the district police after embezzling 1 billion 49 crores from the savers there. He took the funds of the cooperative illegally and misused it for his boarding school, real estate plotting, gambling.

9 months ago, during the investigation, one and a half billion rupees was embezzled from his plan. Thapa, who was supposed to be arrested as soon as the investigation report was published, was escaping due to political access. He was arrested a month ago.

The UML party suspended Thapa late while the initial stage of the investigation was being completed by the police. 10 months after the fact that he embezzled one and a half billion was made public, the UML party suspended him .
