The Trump administration, which has adopted a policy of deporting undocumented immigrants from the United States, is sending 10 Nepalis to Nepal on a charter plane. They are scheduled to be taken to Kathmandu on Wednesday morning. After Trump's executive order, 27 Nepalis have already been deported from America.

According to an official at the Tribhuvan International Airport, the American airline company Griffon Air's plane carrying the 10 Nepalis is scheduled to land at 10 am. The charter plane is about to arrive from Portsmouth International Airport in the state of New Hampshire, USA. After dropping off some citizens at Tirana International Airport in Albania, the plane will come directly to Nepal.

The charter plane arriving in Kathmandu on Wednesday will return to America via Albania at 3 pm on Thursday. An immigration official said the plane was returning to the US with six passengers. Since Trump assumed his second term on January 7, undocumented Nepalese have continued to arrive on regular international flights. The US immigration agency 'Immigration and Customs Enforcement' (ICE) has returned 6 Nepalis in January, 20 in February and 1 in March. ICE said that three Nepalis were deported to Panama. But the reason why they were taken to Pana is not revealed.

Undocumented foreigners are taken to their own countries by ICE officials. "Customs and Border Protection" (CBP) is arresting foreign nationals trying to cross the Mexican border without a visa and sending them back to Mexico.

According to the 'Department of Homeland Security', during the four-year tenure of the then President Joe Biden, around 9,000 Nepalis entered the US without a visa. Among them, 2 thousand 8 people were detained by Ice. The US has announced that in the first phase, 1.4 million 45 thousand 549 undocumented immigrants will be deported. There are 1,365 Nepalese people in the list.

Honduras has the most 261 thousand 651 people on the list of US deportees in the first phase. There are 253,413 from Guatemala, 252,44 from Mexico and 23,822 from El Salvador. There are 37 thousand 908 people from China and 17 thousand 940 people from India. According to Ice, the list includes those who have been ordered for deportation by November 24, 2024 but have not yet been arrested.

The Trump administration said that the number of people trying to enter the US illegally last February was 8,300 26. Which is 97 percent less than December. Ice said that they were immediately deported or prosecuted according to US law based on necessity.

President Trump has also thanked those working on border security through social network X, saying that the number of people trying to cross the border illegally has decreased in February. Last December, 300,000 immigrants entered the US illegally. In 2024, the United States turned away 271,224 people trying to cross the border illegally.

According to a report by the Pew Research Center, there are currently around 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States. Among them, the most are 4 million from Mexico. El Salvador is in second place with 750,000. In the third place there are 7 lakh 25 thousand people from India. Similarly, there are 675,000 from Guatemala, 525,000 from Honduras and 270,000 from Venezuela. The number of undocumented Nepalis in America is not certain.
