Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Devendra Dahal has said that the government does not have accurate data on how many vehicles there are in Nepal.

Speaking at the meeting of the thematic committee including the transport-related ministers and secretaries of the seven provinces in the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport on Tuesday, Minister Dahal complained that since there is no definite data on how many vehicles Nepal has, they have to give estimated data even in international conferences.

'Until now, one state does not have accurate data on how many vehicles we have. It is not so nice to say that you don't know how many there are. But we are saying . Some say 60 lakhs, some say 50 lakhs,' Minister Dahal said, 'We should bring a definite figure by this Baisakh anyway . Now we have to go to the international conference. But there also we say similar data . Sometimes we want to say 50 lakhs, sometimes 60 lakhs . We have said that 80 percent of them are motorcycles.'
