71 people were elected unopposed from the 10th District Convention of UML Morang on Tuesday. According to the election committee, 325 people registered their nominations at the convention. Among them, 71 people were elected unopposed, while 63 people withdrew their candidature.

The convention, which has been ongoing since Saturday, is preparing to elect a 165-member working committee with five officers. Voting for the remaining 191 posts will be held from 7 am on Wednesday.

The election committee has announced the voting schedule for the selection of new leadership on Wednesday from 7 am to 4 pm. Earlier, the vote was moved to continue efforts to reach a consensus on what was supposed to be a vote on Monday, which made the representatives unhappy.

According to Chief Election Officer Suresh Lal Shrestha, arrangements have been made for 20 people to vote at a time. Due to the large number of candidates, it is estimated that each voter will take about 15 minutes to vote. After the voting is over, the counting of votes will be done at the party office. It is certain that there will be competition between the two factions in the convention.  Rajkumar Ojha as president, Shanti Limbu Bhujel as vice president, Ravin Thapa as secretary and Shilpa Nirala Karki and Irjalal Rajvanshi as deputy secretaries have nominated from the

establishment group. Ajambar Rai as president, Sagar Thapa as vice president, Somraj Thapa as secretary and Santosh Bantwa and Usha Jha (Thakur) as deputy secretaries have been nominated from other factions.  911 delegates are participating in the

convention. After a long effort to select a unanimous leadership failed, the two-party faction entered the election process.
