Competition between 25 student organizations in SWVU elections

There will be competition between 25 student unions in the election of the independent student union.

According to the Tribhuvan University Central Election Monitoring and Coordination Committee, 25 student organizations have registered to participate in the election to be held on 5th of March.

On Monday, Pashupati Adhikari, member secretary of the committee, said that the organizations and groups that want to participate in the election on campuses across the country are registered.  The election committee has been formed in all 62 individual campuses of the university.

Aneraswaviyu, Navy Sangh, All Revolutionary, Aneraswaviyu Samajwadi, Nepal Revolutionary Student, All Revolutionary (Vaidya), National Democratic Student Organization, All Socialist, Samajwadi Student Union, All Sixth, All Nepal Student Union have registered in the center to participate in the election.

Similarly, Democratic Student Association, Aneraswawiyu (Fifth), Student Janmat Association, Nepal Student Front, Academic Student Council, Scientific Socialist Student Organization, All Revolutionary Majority, National Democratic Student Organization of Nepal, Scientific Socialist Student Front, Citizen Student Association, National Student Association, New Shakti Student Union, Socialist Student Union, National Student Forum have been registered, according to the committee.

2079 19 student unions participated in the election held in Chait. In order to participate in the

election, there is a provision that student organizations/groups must be registered in the respective campuses. Major student organizations such as Navy Sangh, Aneraswaviyu, Akhil Krantikari and others have announced their candidates including the president in some campuses.

According to the Swaviyu election schedule, nominations will be registered in campuses across the country on February 27. The member secretary officer said that nomination papers for both direct and proportional nominations will be filed in the same way. The time for registration of candidature has been fixed from 11 am to 2 pm. The committee said that the nomination papers will be distributed on the 26th.

The voting time has been fixed on Chaitra 5th from 8 am to 4 pm. It is mentioned in the schedule that the voter list will be published on February 21. Community and affiliated private campuses can conduct self-education elections.

For the elections, the University has issued the Guideline 2081 regarding the Swaviyu elections. The Executive Council of the University has prepared for the election when the 2-year tenure of the officers elected from the Swaviyu election held in Chait 2079 is about to end. There is a provision that the campuses have to form election committees and implement the central agenda.
