CPN Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has reached the house of Rinku Sada, who was found dead after gang rape. Dahal, who arrived in Siraha during the public awareness campaign, met Rinku's family on Saturday morning.
Narayankaji Shrestha, Agniprasad Sapkota, Devprasad Gurung, Varshaman Pun, Janardhan Sharma and other leaders along with Dahal reached Rinku's house in Musahar Basti of Bhagwatipur, Navarajpur Rural Municipality-1.
While meeting and talking with Rinku's family members, Dahal said that this incident made him very sad and his party promised to raise voice for justice . 'We raise our voices for justice,' he said, 'we also ask the police to act quickly.'
Rinku, who went out to defecate on the night of last January 27, was gang-raped by three local youths. She reached home crying only the next morning. However, with the involvement of local people including ward members, there was a panchayat meeting on 29th and 30th and an attempt was made to settle the incident in the village.
The panchayat decided to pay a fine of 140,000 from the rapist and not to let the victim go to the police. However, the victim girl was found hanging dead in her house on the evening of 30th amid the threats of the perpetrators after the panchayat failed to meet.
After the news about this incident, the police is investigating after taking a complaint against 8 people including 3 people involved in rape and 5 people involved in panchayati . Three people are under police custody during the investigation.
