Chief Minister of Madhes State Satish Kumar Singh has said that there are many differences due to the different views of the union towards the state. He complained that even though the state made a police law, it could not be implemented due to the non-cooperation of the union.
In Kantipur Television's 'Mukhyamantri Sanga Kantipur' program, Chief Minister Singh said that the main problem in budget implementation is the lack of own staff and police administration. He mentioned that after the State Public Service Act was made and implemented, it became easier to manage employees and the access of the Madhesi community to the employees increased. He also claimed that after federalization, the locals could see paved roads and slopes in the villages of Madhesh province.
Chief Minister Singh expressed his concern that none of the 136 local levels of Madhesh province could be declared fully literate so far. He informed that emphasis has been placed on the physical infrastructure development of community schools to strengthen the education sector.
He expressed his belief that the establishment of Madhesh Agricultural University will contribute significantly to the production of technical manpower. Informing that the hospitals of all districts have been developed as provincial hospitals, he said that the Madhesh state government has started teaching MBBS in medicine for the first time in Janakpurdham. In response to the question raised by the participants of the
program on the effectiveness of programs such as 'Beti Padhau, Beti Bachau' and 'Chori Bima' brought by the state government, Chief Minister Singh admitted that there were shortcomings and expressed his commitment to improve them now. The participants drew the attention of the Chief Minister that though the scheme for poor housing in the name of Mahendra Narayan Nidhi and Madan Bhandari is ongoing in Madhesh, the implementation is not satisfactory. Chief Minister Singh promised to take action if irregularities are found in the program.
Chief Minister Singh also promised to work round the clock and be accountable to the people as long as he remains in office. He informed that in order to end corruption, the state government has decided to make all schemes work through contract agreements. He has also announced that all the work he has done will be made public at the end of his tenure.
