Minister Yadav's claim: The water supply institute is in a coma, I will leave it to make a profit

Water Minister Pradeep Yadav has claimed that the Nepal Water Supply Institute will make a profit. Addressing the 36th anniversary ceremony of Kathmandu Nepal Water Supply Institute on Thursday, Yadav said that the Nepal Water Supply Institute is in a coma and will make it profitable.

'There is concern about how the Khanepani Institute will move forward. How does a loss-making institution become profitable? Most of the branches are in losses. As this is an institute run by the spirit of service and drinking water is such an important thing. Even if it is in loss, it should be kept in operation. We should think about how to make it profitable,' he said.

Minister Yadav also says that a 'game changer' program should be introduced to make the drinking water company profitable. 'They have been taking monthly service facilities from citizens. But how did the organization go into losses? Why did it go? Therefore, I request you to be honest with the organization. You are our future only as an organization,' he said.

Minister Yadav mentioned that there is a need to reconsider the water service tariff. He said that there is a current need to increase the quality and quantity of water, adjust the water tariff according to time.
