Gandaki Chief Minister Surendraraj Pandey has said that the people have direct access to state power after the establishment of the state government. In the 'Kantipur with the Chief Minister' program organized by Kantipur Television on Monday in Pokhara, Chief Minister Pandey said that there is no need to open the lion's palace for development projects.

"First Singha Durbar was a distant government, now it has come to its own village," he said, "people come to the provincial government with small plans." The people have reached the power of government.'' Stating that the comment that the provincial government has collapsed is wrong, he presented the details of the work done in Gandaki for the last 7 years. He says that after federalization, the Gandaki state government has paved 923 km of roads and 700 km of gravel. The state has built 140 concrete motorized bridges from its own resources, 65 of which are under construction. 84 suspension bridges have been built in the state, 17 are in the process of being built,” said Pandey.

According to him, during that period, 64 percent of the households in the province have one house, one tap, and 152,402 drinking water taps have been connected. Chief Minister Pandey presented the details that 68 thousand 793 hectares of land have been irrigated in the state. According to him, the state government has given 60 to 100 percent subsidy for the electricity required for lifting drinking water and irrigation schemes. He said that since more than 99 percent of households in the state have received electricity, they are preparing to declare 'Ujyalo Gandaki Province' soon.

Chief Minister Pandey mentioned that the state is preparing the second five-year plan and identifying 14 priority areas. He said that since the state did not make the law that should be made by the union, a difficult situation was created in the state, so now the state will move forward to make the necessary law. "There is no day that the Union will make laws and we will also make them," he said, "We have started making them." He complained that even though Gandaki had prepared the State Police Act and Civil Servant Act, they could not implement it because the union did not make it. "It is pointless not to talk about why the law was not made in the federal parliament," he said.

Stating that he is clear that the province will not develop depending on the grants given by the union government, he made it clear that the province will seek its own rights to increase revenue. He said that although the province has the sole right to manage traffic, currently 25-30 million rupees collected annually for traffic operations are going to the union.
