Congress General Minister Gagan Thapa has said that in order to end factions and sub-factions within the party, the President should be elected through direct elections. Addressing a meeting held in Pyuthan on Monday, General Minister Thapa said that the practice of going to the houses of leaders and becoming officials should be stopped.
General Minister Thapa also said that the convention should be held at the appointed time according to the party constitution. He has also instructed the district leadership to prepare the membership renewal work by the end of March.
He also says that the Congress will contest the elections alone in the upcoming elections. He mentioned that he will go to the people with the report card of the work to be done in the next term.
