The police have arrested four people who caught fish in the Kaligandaki river. The police arrested them on Monday after they found the fish killed by using electric current on the river bank at Dhodeni of Baglung municipality-4.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijay Yadav informed that the arrested are 34-year-old Gokul Gautam, 30-year-old Kismet Pun, 37-year-old Dil Bahadur Magar and 29-year-old Aryan Sharma of Jaljala Rural Municipality-8 of Parbat.

The police recovered 12 volt batteries, two aluminum wires, one net, two hoes and a bag used for fishing from them.

The police have sent the four people to the District Administration Office for action under the Aquaculture Act 2017.
