Maoist MP Madhav Sapkota has accused Nepal of being on the 'grey list' related to money laundering and investment in terrorist activities due to the inaction of the government.

Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday, MP Sapkota said that due to the inaction of the government, lack of determination to improve the financial sector and neglect of good governance, Nepal has reached a shameful situation. He expressed regret and condemnation for being on the 'grey list' related to money laundering and investing in terrorist activities.  We should take this development as a sign that the government is not in favor of good governance and that the government has completely failed. And I want to draw attention to the fact that the government should pave its way morally through the Speaker,' he said.

Due to the neglect of the political leadership in the investigation and implementation of laws related to prevention of money laundering, Nepal has been included in the 'grey list'. The second General Assembly meeting of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), an international organization that monitors money laundering and terrorist activities, in Paris, France, on Friday evening, placed Nepal on the "grey list".
