Supreme Cooperative Case: Order to keep Chavilal's appeal on hold

Butwal High Court on Thursday ordered to keep the appeal of Gorkha Media Network Vice President and former DIG Chabilal Joshi Banjade on hold in the Supreme Cooperative fraud case. On Thursday, the joint bench of Judges Kiran Kumari Gupta and Purnasheela Dawadi Ghimire in bench No.

Ruppandehi went to the High Court demanding the annulment of the arrest warrant issued by the District Court.

There are many defendants in the same case and in the same case, former Managing Director of Gorkha Media Network and Chairman of RSVP Ravi Lamichhane was ordered to be released on bail of 1 crore. On January 28th, after the order to keep him in custody, he filed a petition in the Tulsipur High Court Butwal bench on January 29th, demanding the cancellation of the district order. While hearing the appeal petition, the bench of Chief Justice Rajeshwar Tiwari of the High Court had ordered to submit the report of the district court on January 30.

District Attorney Premraj Paudel of Rupandehi District Public Prosecutor's Office said that since both parties reached the High Court demanding the cancellation of Ravi's bail order from the Nepal government and the cancellation of the arrest order of the defendant Banjade, it is possible that the order of "impoundment" may have come from the judge. He said that since there are different orders in two cases of the same nature, there is a practice of keeping them in 'logau' for study. "We have filed an appeal demanding that the defendant Ravi Lamichhane should not be released on bail," he said.

Joshi, who appeared in the court after being charged with Supreme Cooperative fraud in Ruppandehi, was ordered to be remanded in custody by Judge Vashishth Kumar Ghimire of Ruppandehi District Court on January 30. Joshi is in jail. Ram Bahadur Kunwar, Information Officer of the High Court Tulsipur Butwal Bench, said that the order was placed with the government's application. "Now both cases will be considered in the same court," he said, "in a case with many defendants, when there is a different order of the same nature, it will be ordered to keep the petitions of both the Nepal government and the defendant together."

A supplementary case has been registered in the court against 22 people including Lamichhane and Joshi for embezzling more than 1 billion 70 million of 1,831 savers of Supreme Cooperative of Butwal. It is mentioned in the indictment that Ravi's 2 million individual and 10 million 99 million joint liabilities were found and the 25 million individual and 10 million 99 million collective liability amount of Image was embezzled.
