Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has said that if the present government led by Congress-UML fails to work effectively, the country will be in more trouble. Speaking at a press conference organized by the Nepal Press Union at Surkhet Airport on Thursday, Leader Koirala expressed his concern over the lack of good governance in the country and the lack of improvement in the economic situation.
Leader Koirala said that various discussions are going on regarding the 15th party convention and said that everything should be done to ensure the environment for holding the convention on time.
'According to the 15th Congress Constitution, if it is not done on time, the situation of the party will be more critical. There are various discussions going on now. The question is being raised that the convention is not being held only after the general elections of 2084,' Koirala said, 'It is time for all the workers to come together to prevent this from happening. The convention to be held in November 2082 cannot be postponed under any pretext.'
He said that the Congress has been a block until today and said that the matter that is not discussed during the convention will damage the party as well. "No one should go beyond the party statute and constitution, and if the convention is not held before the 084 election and the new leadership is not elected, the party will suffer more damage," he said.
