Netaraj is not acceptable to us who have established a democratic republic through great sacrifices and struggles. We want to cut down this poisonous tree . The time has come for citizens to wake up all over the country to remove the web of corruption and self-interest, to make politics fair and meaningful. The call for the end of Netaraj is to address the structural problems of the party and make the party more responsive, transparent and anti-corruption.' Khagendra Sangraula, the leading writer of the
movement, said that the people should come forward to make the leader hesitate in time. He also said that he would come to the streets if necessary. Sangraula said, "The mass movement is not against the leader, but against the leader," Sangraula said, "Democracy started after the republic, political parties are not like parties, political parties are not this and that, there is a Swami sitting in the mandap, all the rest are devotees, the destinies of all those devotees are controlled by Swami." He also said that when political parties and state power are under the control of individuals, the system has been questioned. 'Questioners have been chased away, people have been insulted . We are going to protest on the streets to stop this and alert the leaders,' said Sangraula. The participants of the
program emphasized that all parties should be strong in order to strengthen democracy. Professor Krishna Khanal, Niranti Tumbapo, a participant in the recognition movement, Dr. Ramji Ram and others said that the government is stopping democracy and that Netaraj is unacceptable. "Leader is not the good leader we are looking for, we are not looking for a king in our country. The main task of the leaders is to put the voice of the citizens as the first priority. However, after getting power in Nepal, our leaders forget their main work," Khanal said. He said that the party only looks after its own interests but does not understand the people's intentions.
The large civil movement said that the law related to political parties should be amended . They have demanded a serious review of the existing political party laws to prevent the corruption of parties. Make the provisions regarding merger and separation of political parties very clear and transparent. Make it completely unacceptable to sabotage the party by the ordinance to suit the ruling coalition. Appointments and nominations at all levels within the party should be made by the members of the same level to choose their officials and there should be no interference from the higher levels or the center,' is the movement's demand.
There is a demand that no person can stay in the highest executive position of the party for more than two terms and the age limit for such a position should be maintained at 70 years . The civil movement demands that the maximum limit of financial support, donations, and donations given by individuals, businesses or other organizations to the party and its sister organizations or candidates and to make the party's programs transparent.
The broad citizen movement has demanded that the candidates for the elections from the local level to the federal parliament should be selected from the party's internal elections. Their demand is to end the system of the same person becoming the prime minister repeatedly. Also, there is a demand of the large-scale civil movement to stop the vertical interference of the executive and party division in the appointment process which is recommended by the Constitutional Council, including the chief commissioner and commissioner of the Election Commission.
It has also been demanded that the head and other members of the Election Commission and Authority should not have incumbent secretaries or government service officials . It is also demanded to make a law on conflict of interest applicable to all levels of state organs and public bodies - executive, legislature, judiciary, all councils and commissions mentioned in the constitution, police, armed police, army, universities and other academic bodies, political parties, etc.
In order to stop partisanship in institutions like universities, educational institutes, police, etc., there is also a demand that the appointment based on party interest, share, affiliation, and proximity should be completely stopped in the appointment or promotion.
