The government is understanding the incident of Odisha University expelling Nepali students: Prime Minister Oli

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that efforts are being made to understand the expulsion of Nepali students by a university in Odisha. After the death of a Nepali student in the hostel of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, all Nepali students staying there have been asked to go home immediately.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the government is understanding the incident diplomatically. He wrote on social media, 'It has been reported through the media and social media that a Nepali student died in the hostel of the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University in Odisha, India, and that the Nepali student was forced out of the hostel. The government is working on this matter in a diplomatic manner and in contact.'

Prakriti Lamsal, a Nepali student studying in the third year of B-Tech, committed suicide after being abused by Indian students, according to KIIT.

Lamsal committed suicide after she could not bear the constant abuse of Indian student Advik Srivastava. After demanding action against misbehaving Indian students, the college administration on Monday issued a notice to all Nepali students to leave the college.
