The Nepali Embassy in New Delhi, India has requested to make arrangements to stay in the hostel of the educational institution to ensure the safety of the Nepali students studying at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology in Odisha state.
Regarding the events developed in the institute, the embassy said that upon receiving the information that the Nepali students studying in the educational institution were expelled from the dormitory, they discussed with the registrar and other representatives of the institution and requested to make arrangements to stay in the dormitory of the educational institution by ensuring security.
The embassy has also requested to make necessary arrangements for the conduct of classes for Nepali students in the institution. "As per the request from this embassy, the said educational institution has accordingly informed that the students will be arranged to stay in the dormitory and organize the classes," said the statement issued by the embassy today.
In addition, the institution has expressed its commitment to take the matter of investigation seriously in an independent and impartial manner regarding the death of Prakriti Lamsal, a student of the said educational institution. "Regarding this incident, the Embassy is in constant contact with the Central Government of India and the Chief Minister's Office of Orissa and other related Indian agencies, including the Nepali students, and the necessary support and coordination is being provided by that agency." Affected Nepali students and parents can contact the embassy if they have any problems,' the statement said.
