Three Nepali citizens who returned home from the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, India died in a road accident in India on Monday morning.
Rupandehi Police Chief SP Ranjitsinh Rathore said that information was received about the death of 45-year-old Ganesh Khanal, his wife Deepa Khanal, 35, and Geeta Sharma, 40, residents of Devdah Municipality-9 of Rupandehi. Five people were injured in the accident. The injured are Devdah-9, Kopila Pokharel of Valuhi, his son Shubham, Avaskar Parajuli and Yamakaladevi Magar . Indian citizen Ritesh Dubey, the driver of the vehicle, was also injured in the accident.
According to SP Rathore, they were returning after bathing in Prayagraj Kumbh Mela. On Monday morning, an accident occurred when a vehicle hit the road divider at a place called Azamgarh on the Baranasi-Azamgarh highway in Uttar Pradesh, India. "We are trying to get more information about the incident in coordination with the Indian side," he said, "Detailed details of the incident are yet to come."
