Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakashman Singh has asked the municipality to implement it in a sustainable manner, saying that it is not enough to declare child-friendly. He said that Hetaunda sub-metropolitan municipality has succeeded in sending a positive message to other municipalities in the country by declaring the municipality free from child labor, child marriage and child-friendly local governance.

Declaring the sub-city as a child-friendly city, Deputy Prime Minister Singh said that children are the leaders of the future and our behavior should be child-friendly  Said it happened. He said that since Hetaunda is a sub-metropolitan municipality, its activities should be child-friendly. He said that the responsibility and responsibilities of the sub-metropolitan city have been increased after the announcement of the child-friendly city. 

On Thursday, the municipality was declared child-friendly in a program organized on the occasion of the 56th foundation day of Hetaunda sub-metropolitan city. There are 11 sub-metropolitan cities across the country. This is the first declared child-friendly sub-metropolitan city. In the program, Rajesh Baniyan, Deputy Mayor of Hetaunda Sub-Metropolitan City, informed about the work done by the Sub-Metropolitan City to declare it a child-friendly city  .  In the

program, Chief Minister Prakash Shrestha of Wagmati Province, Federal MP Deepak Bahadur Singh, State Assembly Member Indra Bahadur Baniyan, Ekalal Shrestha, Prem Bahadur Pulami and others spoke.  In the

program, village development organizations of all 19 wards, students from 7th to 9th grade, residents of different communities participated in the rally with their costumes and tableaus. A rally was taken out from Buddhachowk in Hetaunda to Pipley Campa Stadium. 

With the completion of 51 indicators required to declare child-friendly, the sub-metropolis has been declared a child-friendly local government municipality. According to the metropolis, the target of 43 indicators has been fulfilled 100 percent and more than 99 percent results have been achieved in 4 indicators. Achieving over 90 percent in 3 indicators and 88 percent in one indicator  The sub-metropolitan city has been declared child-friendly. 

According to the household data collection survey of 2079, there are 50,195 children under the age of 18 in Hetaunda sub-metropolitan city. There are 26 thousand 145 boys and 24 thousand 50 girls. Based on the total number of children, 52.08 percent are boys and 47.91 percent are girls. In the sub-metropolitan city, there are 371 children's groups, 265 at toll level and 116 at school level, while there are 20 children's networks at 19 ward level and one at city level.

With the basic slogan of 'Investing in children: the beginning of a sure future', the municipality has been declared free from substandard child labour, free from child marriage and child-friendly local governance. Earlier, all the 19 wards have been declared child-friendly local government wards.

Among the 10 municipalities of Makwanpur, Makwanpurgarhi, Manhari and Bakaiya Rural Municipality have already been declared as Balmaitri Local Government Municipalities. Mayor Meenakumari Lama informed that necessary infrastructure and various child-friendly programs have been started to fulfill the indicator from August 5, 2079 for child-friendly declaration.
