Kamalraj Joshi, leader of Aneraswaviyu, close to UML, has also been arrested for allegedly beating up the police in Thamel, Kathmandu. Spokesman and SP Apilraj Bohra informed that he was arrested by the police from Naya Baneshwar on Thursday afternoon.

On January 27, Dinesh Sigdel, resident of Fungling Municipality-1, Taplejung, and resident of Lainchour, and Ramesh Phulara, resident of Lainchour, Dadeldhura Ganyapadhura Rural Municipality-5, were arrested in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-9 Airport area. They beat up two policemen on duty in Thamel last night on January 24. The arrested are student leaders of Amrit Science Campus.

Although Joshi was seen in the CCTV footage of the incident, the police did not bring Joshi under investigation. The police were forced to arrest Joshi after being criticized for not being brought under the protection of UML, which is leading the government.

They beat up two policemen on a QRT motorcycle. The police said that action has been taken against those arrested in the case of indecent behavior.
