Congress General Minister Gagan Thapa has said that his party will not compromise with anyone so that the fundamental rights of the citizens are above all. He said that the Congress did not play any role in devaluing the freedom of speech and freedom of the press.
Inaugurating the first session of the Lumbini Province Committee of Nepal Muslim Association held in Butwal on Wednesday, he said that since the Congress has struggled for a long time to establish the fundamental rights of the citizens, they will not compromise on it.
'Our party has adopted the principle of proportional inclusion since its establishment Yes,' he said, 'Congress will never abandon federal democratic republic and proportional inclusiveness.'
According to General Minister Thapa, the present government was not formed because of Congress' will and efforts, but it is a product of time and circumstances. He said that this three-year period should be utilized to the maximum in favor of the people. He also claimed that he is going to amend the constitution for more rights by institutionalizing the acquired rights.
