A CCTV footage is currently viral on social media, in which some youths are seen beating up the policemen who are engaged in road security. This is a video of the fight that took place in Thamel on Thursday midnight.

According to the identification made by the police on the basis of CCTV footage, it has been revealed that the perpetrators are the leaders of the main ruling party Amalenikat Aneraswawiyu from the center to the campus.

police constable Raghulal Gharti and police constable Nagendra Bista who were on duty at Darbarmarg were going towards that direction on a motorcycle, the police said. 

The incident took place outside Amrit Science Askal Campus. 5 people involved in the scuffle are students living in the hostel of Amrit Science Campus. According to the campus, they have been forcibly living in the hostel for years.

"Two of the attackers have been arrested and they are being investigated for indecent behavior," says Ramhari Sharma Kafle, the head of the Kathmandu District Public Prosecutor's Office, "The scene of the beating in the video as well as the details mentioned in the wound examination case form have been taken into notice for investigation."

Kamal Joshi, permanent committee member of ARESWA, ASKAL Campus SWA joint secretary Ramesh Phulara, SWA member Dinesh Sigdel, AnERASWA campus committee secretary Gopaljung Shahi and campus committee member Saujan Shahi were involved in the scuffle, according to Darmarg police.

According to the police, the police who were going on duty on a motorcycle attacked the student leaders who were marching and shouting while trying to remind them. In the CCTV footage released to the public, it is seen that they beat up the policemen, in the course of which even the policemen's clothes were torn and even the motorcycle was attacked.

After attacking the police, they entered the hostel of Askal campus. Among those involved in the incident, Fulara and Sigde have been arrested by the police. Gopal Shahi and Saujan Shahi are absconding.
