Water Minister Pradeep Yadav has said that safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene (housing) services will be made a national priority.
Minister Yadav expressed this opinion at the program on 'Political commitment for the progress of inclusive, climate-sustainable and safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene (housing) services' organized by the Ministry of Water Resources on Monday.
Minister Yadav said, 'For the empowerment of housing services, I express my commitment to implement it from the central level of my own party. Also, I will take initiatives to make it a national priority of the government.'
Minister Yadaval expressed his belief that concrete achievements can be achieved in the improvement of housing services if political parties, unions, state and local governments unite and give a written commitment. He stressed the need to revise policies and strategies by collaborating with organizations such as the Municipal Association, the National Rural Municipality Federation and other organizations to strengthen cooperation between the three levels of government.
Minister Yadav also discussed with the minister related to water supply of the province, representatives of municipal association, national rural municipality federation. During the discussion, the participants were of the opinion that everyone should work together to achieve the goals of safe drinking water and sanitation and should be continuously committed to make housing services safe, strong, and inclusive. The
event was attended by Minister of Water Supply of Karnali Province Vijaya Budha, Secretary of Union Water Supply Ministry Pramiladevi Bajracharya, Joint Secretary Meena Shrestha, Director General of Water Supply and Sewerage Management Department Ram Kumar Shrestha, Secretaries of all the seven provinces, Deputy Director General Ramchandra Kafle and others.
