Bishwa Prakash Sharma, General Minister of the ruling Congress, has said that the Social Media Bill, 2081, which the government has registered in the Parliament, will be passed only after amending the proposed provisions. Sharma said that while the Social Media Bill was being brought to the Parliament, there was no in-depth discussion between the ruling Congress and the UML.
Stating that social media is a parliament outside the parliament, Sharma said that it is necessary to change the style of government and social media users.
Congress General Minister Sharma, who is also a Member of Parliament, said that there should be a change in the style of government and social media users at an event held in Kathmandu on Saturday.
It is necessary to change the style of both government and social media. Politics also means looking for change within oneself . It is necessary to modify the dignity that should be maintained by social media users while using it through a serious debate,' Sharma said, 'Social media is a parliament outside the parliament . If this parliament acts to give feedback correctly, if it alerts the parliament outside on the right question, then it will be easy for the parliament inside to make itself more responsible, to become more serious about the issue of the country's people, and to reform itself.'
Chief Minister Sharma said that despite changing the governance system, the working style could not be changed. Regarding the social network bill, he added, 'When this bill was coming, it should have been discussed with the common stakeholders. But there was no intensive dialogue between the two main parties in the government. What it says is that the style of governance should have been more democratic, there should have been a sense of belonging. Now the bill related to social media has come, this bill will be passed only after necessary dialogue, discussion, and amendment.
General Minister Sharma said that there are examples of violations of democracy by elected representatives in some places and they should be serious about this too.
