There is no chance of unity with UML: Nepal

United Samajwadi Party Chairman and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that unity with UML is not possible. Addressing the party's first Gandaki state convention in Pokhara on Saturday, he said that party unity will not flourish as long as extreme individualism, arrogance and right-wing incitement prevail in UML President Oli.

"I hear that some people are saying that this party could not confirm the justification of the rebellion," he said, "was it not confirmed even after Bhim Rawal was expelled? Even after confusing the people who came to us by saying that they will unite Vamdev Gautama, and insulting them, where is unity possible now, they still don't understand? What will you do to understand?'' He also told that he did not understand UML President KP Sharma Oli when he took action for raising something in the

party.  Don't you understand that certain people are out and others are in?,'  He said, 'Get rid of the illusion that there is any scope of unity with UML by doing such absurd things.'

Asking him to get rid of the illusion that his party is merging with the Maoists, he said that he wants to stand the party on its own feet. But he said that he would like to unite with such a party if there is agreement.

He mentioned that unity cannot be achieved due to KP Oli's individualistic, autocratic and monopolistic tendencies. "Hitler was first a socialist, later he became a fascist, he became the cause of world war, 2.5 million people died," he said, "People have overcome such a trend that others have to accept domination in order to maintain dominance." Now people are disgusted.'

He expressed the opinion that the main problem of Nepal's politics is not the lack of majority of any one party or the failure of a particular person to win, but corruption, extreme individualism and neglect of the people, so the directly elected president's debate is pointless. He said, "The problem is in tendency, in wrong thinking, in individualism, in autocratic tendency, in monopoly." As a result, there is a tendency to keep the entire state system in one's fist, taking revenge on others, layering, and exploiting the resources of the state.'
