Former Prime Minister and Chairman of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the Tharu community is rich in art and culture. He expressed this opinion while inaugurating the inter-provincial level Tharu cultural and Raithane food festival which started on Saturday at the Tharu museum complex in Dangisharan rural municipality-3 Chakhoura.
Tharu community is rich in art and culture. This is the wealth of the Tharu community," he said. "The Tharu community seems to be lagging behind in the field of education and knowledge. It should be improved along with art culture.' He emphasized on the need to be self-reliant and save our culture.
Tharu cultural festival will also play an important role in saving Tharu art and culture, he said. "I am happy that the Tharu community has united to save their culture," he said, "In this way, unity and harmony should be maintained in our community."
He said that the Tharu community is capable of making the necessary rules and laws for the Tharu community. Deuba expressed the opinion that since the Tharu community is being represented at the leadership level of various governments, they should play a role in making necessary laws for the benefit of their community.
Deuba stayed at the Tharu Museum in Chakhoura on Saturday. Shankar Prasad Dangi, president of Congress Dang, said that he is scheduled to address the program held at District Party Office Ghorahi on Sunday.
