The fire that broke out in Syangji Community Forest in Jugal Rural Municipality-2 Kipche since Thursday has not been brought under control yet.
According to the Sindhupalchok police, efforts are being made to extinguish the fire. But the police said that it got out of control on Saturday. After getting the news that there was a fire in the forest, they were deployed to protect the local community forest along with the security personnel from the police station at Dhande of Jugal Rural Municipality.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Umashankar Yadav of District Police Office Sindhupalchok said that although there has been no human loss so far, there is no condition to control the fire. Three days ago, there was a fire in the Kharanefodan community forest of Patichour bordering Jugal-7.
Security personnel and locals who had gone to extinguish the fire were unable to control it due to geographical difficulties and returned. On the other hand, the situation in the Shirveg forest area of Bhotekoshi-2 Liping, the border area connecting China, is also the same. One of the fires that started here last Friday is spreading in the forest area.
In Liping last Sunday, the helicopter of Simric Air returned after the attempt to completely extinguish the fire by carrying water from the helicopter failed. An attempt was made to put out the fire by carrying water from the Bhotekoshi river 54 times at the rate of 800 liters from the helicopter.
"The fire in Jugal Kipche is out of control, while Rangbusa village is safe due to the fire line, but smoke is blowing between Liping and Patichour forest of Jugal, but it is far beyond human settlement," DSP Yadav said.
A fire broke out in Liping One while welding outside the tunnel side of the Liping Khola hydropower project under construction in Liping Khola. It is suspected that people started fire in Kipche and Patichour forests of Jugal Rural Municipality. According to the police, 70-year-old Daulat Syangbo from Kipche was taken to the area police office in Jalwire for questioning.
