Maoist President Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the general public has become disillusioned with the government's lack of speed. Commenting that the economic situation of the country could not be improved, he accused the government of obstructing the corruption investigation.
Addressing the meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday, he accused the government of trying to proceed on the road of ordinances and taking political revenge on the opposition parties. His comment was that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli himself proceeded with a weak psychology saying that the government is collapsing. He warned against imagining a two-party system in the country by amending the constitution.
Dahal alleged that the government has become irresponsible towards the people and is arrogantly going in the wrong direction. He said that the country became angry when the government favored middlemen and interest groups. Dahal challenged to amend the proportional representation system and inclusiveness in the constitution.
I heard that Prime Minister Oliji repeatedly said that the constitutional amendment will take place in 087 in the official program of the party. Today I especially want to ask my friends from the Congress, should I talk about the constitutional amendment or not?'' Let's move to directly elected executive system. Are you ready to discuss this?'
Dahal argued that the relationship with the two neighbors had deteriorated. "The current government could not play a role in the diplomatic field according to the interests of Nepal," he claimed, "Instead of making Nepal's strong presence on the world stage based on national interests, the government destroyed foreign relations for its own interests."
Dahal, who has criticized the government for most of the time, defended Ravi Lamichhane, the founding chairman of RSVP, who is under investigation for co-operative fraud. He (Lamichhane), who was not directly connected to get money from cooperatives, has been run across the country as the biggest cooperative fraudster, he said. The entire state has been misused for that.'
He warned to confirm his involvement in the land irregularity of Shera Darbar in Nuwakot. A police investigation found that Vikesh Shrestha's family had dramatically taken ownership of Shera Darbar and the company it had opened by members of the royal family to protect 164 ropanis of land in Ogate. Shrestha was the personal secretary of Maoist Chairman Dahal when he was Prime Minister in 2065. Dahal has warned the parliament to investigate this matter.
