Ravi Lamichhane, Chairman of Rashtriya Swatantra Party and former Home Minister, has appeared in the Chitwan District Court in the Sahara Multi-Purpose Cooperative Organization fraud case.
He appeared for statement on Wednesday morning. Information Officer of Chitwan District Court, Amrit Bishwakarma, informed that the statement will begin and after the statement is over, the hearing will begin.
Lamichhane's statement is going to be held in the courtroom of District Judge Dayaram Dhakal.
A case has been filed against Lamichhane in Chitwan for fraud. A case was also filed against him in Kaski, Kathmandu and Rupandehi district courts for the offense of organized crime. In the
indictment, it is mentioned that out of the 3.5 million rupees that came to Gorkha Media from Sahara Chitwan Cooperative, as well as 48 million rupees which came to Gorkha Media through other cooperatives and various means, more than 48 million rupees were spent by Ravi's single signature . It is said that Ravi cut 814 checks to spend this amount.
